DEWARS LANE GRANARY

Dewars Lane Granary (originally John Dewars Granary) now magnificently restored by Berwick Preservation Trust dates from the 1769 is the finest surviving example of that genre. It was seriously damaged by fire in the early 19th century at which time the spectacular lean developed.

After many years of uncertainty, many wanted to see its demolition, it is now a Exhibition Gallery and Bistro and the upper floors provide hostel and conference accommodation for the Youth Hostel Association.
