A courtyard reached via the arch between 48 and 52 Bridge Street, The rear of No 48 No 52 is one of a few surviving timber framed buildings in Berwick. The jettied top floor and steeply pitched roof suggesting a 17th century origin. |
Shoe Lane was cleared and enhanced in the early 1990’s for which it recieved a Civic Society Award.. The Machine which now forms a sculpture is a relic of the eponymous 19th century shoe making workshop . |
