The 2019 season opens with two new exhibitions at the Main Guard in addition to the permanent exhibition that covers the history of Berwick-upon-Tweed.
A three panel display with illustrations by Tania Willis shows the medieval castle, harbour and market place in a bright cheerful format aimed at the younger aged group of 5-11 years of age. The text is informative and amusing and backed up by additional information sheets with more detail for better readers.
The Outlaw King exhibition in the Officers’ Room has an interesting collection of items such as longbows, swords and other artefacts along with posters, photographs and supporting text, all relating to the filming of Outlaw King. Some of the scenes in this film were shot in Berwick and featured the quay walls, the old bridge over the Tweed among other places.
